Today Ben and I went out into the country so I could start teaching him how to drive. When Amanda and Joe were the same age we did the same thing. It is Fall and the leaves are all turning and the fields are this wonderful shade of something between gold and tan. Makes me think about how life is always changing....how much has happened over the many "Falls" in my lifetime.
Anyway, before I get too poetic, let me tell you about our day. Ben did a pretty good job of keeping the car on the road, haha....since we were out in the country, there wasn't a centerline to help guide him. I focused on explaining how to slow down as you come to a stop sign, how to signal when you are going to turn, and how to go gently into a curve. We came across several bikers that he had to carefully pass, and one was on a hill, which made me hold my breath just a bit! (yikes) We stopped a few times to take in the views. I think there is no better place to learn how to drive than in the country.
