Sharing GNP

Hello!!!  Summer is winding down...can you feel it?
Seems like it went so fast!

Hubby and I were able to take a couple good camping trips in July and August, but only made it to Glacier National Park once, and that was this past weekend.

My parents spent thier summer in Alaska and luckily for us thier route takes them close enough to Calgary so they can stop by and visit us.  We decided that we should go camping together in GNP since my parents have never been there...I was so happy to show them the place that I really enjoy so much.

I hope you enjoy the pictures...they don't really do the place justice...but maybe some day you will go there yourself and see it first hand like my parents finally did.  And yes, they plan on going back again and again...

The first day was a bit rainy and very windy...and pretty cold, so we went to the Lodge in East Glacier and then later took a short hike to Trick Falls.

We took my parents on the drive through the pass and we were rewarded with wonderful views and a group of Mountain Goats enjoying the shade near a small waterfall.  Aren't they so cute?

There are so many pretty things to see in the park...BIG landscapes, to small little butterflies...

Cal had a good time bird watching...there are so many different kinds to take pictures of.  This is a Cedar Waxwing...
We watched this Grizzly Bear walk around the mountain for a long time eating berries and such..then he dug a hole in the earth and laid down for a nap.

Cal & I hamming it up for the camera!!
I love how the late afternoon sun is sweeping down on
 those pines...
Each night at the camp ground they had a Camp Fire Talk..this specific night was really interesting.  A "visitor" from the early 1800's told us what the area was like before our time, and how things used to be, and how the area got its name.

My Dad really enjoyed the area and told me he plans to come back again, which is just fine with me.  I am glad he felt the same sense of wonder and amazement we do about Two Medicine Lake.

Till next time...

Shine a little light on the subject..

If you are like me, a human being, you may go through some dark times.  Some of you may go through those times with ease, restfully holding God's hand, and yet in other times, go kicking and screaming all the way.
I can tell you the first way is the best,
but sometimes the second is really more what we do.
Oh sure, we may not actually "kick & scream",
but inwardly we are not being peaceful at all.

I don't pretend to understand anything really, I mean life has been a mystery more so now that I am a Christian, but there are some things I do know a bit about...and one of those "things" is that God's Word is a Lamp!!

It will shed light in the darkest of times.

  Psalms 119:105 says
" Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path."

Paths can be so pleasant can't they?  Paved with smooth stones and lined with sweet smelling flowers...and then other paths can be the kind that lead through thick thorny bushes where you cannot see very far ahead and aren't really sure where they are going.

I've been on that kind of path for quite some time now, and it's been a lonely path for sure.  Some of my friends have watched me disappear into the brush and had no idea what I encountered within the dark shady places.  Just like being in an unfamiliar forest, the sounds and surroundings can be terrifying.

I did not like being on the path, in fact I hated it.  I could not explain to others how it felt, and others would not have understood even if I did.  BUT....God was patient, He was more than kind, and more than wonderful to me.  Even when I had given up on ever getting to the end of the dread some path; He knew that one day I would round the bend and see the sun again, and a meadow
 full of HOPE and HAPPINESS.

The only thing, and I really mean the only thing that got me to that "meadow" was the WORD OF GOD!!!

You  may not feel like reading your Bible when you are sad, lonely, confused, scared, or just plain hurt and fed up, but it will help!!!  Don't let yourself go too long between time spent with Him, just keep taking a step at a time and keep looking for that bend in path that will reveal the sun again.  There will be HOPE & HAPPINESS, you will find it, He will lead you to it.  Just keep on trusting, even when it is hard.  I promise, peace will come eventually.
Trust me, I know from experience.

Much love,
